Police sources in the country have stated that he died from a ‘motorbike crash.’
However, some news outlets in the country have called for thorough investigations to ascertain the nature of his demise.
His brother Emmanuel Masabo told reporters that police summoned him to a local morgue, where he identified his body late Thursday afternoon.
Until his death, he was an editor for The Chronicles, a news website that has been critical of the government.
The journalist has also been running his YouTube channel, Pax TV-Ireme news, which focuses on social injustice.
Because of his work, some have even labeled his abrasive journalism as “extreme” something that has seen him attacked and harassed on social media.
A local news website wrote: “ We haven’t been told clearly how the motorbike accident happened, the time, and even the exact place of the accident. We need to know who else was involved and if there have been any arrests yet.”
Journalists and others who knew Mr. Ntwali expressed shock and sadness at reports of his death.
The 43 year old leaves behind a wife and a daughter.
